BR #26: Sell your assets without ID?
Oct 01, 2023(1-minute read)
There are two types of assets in this world.
Assets tied to your ID
- Cash in your bank account
- Gold in your brokerage
Real estate - Companies
- Stocks
- Bonds
- Cars
- Bitcoin in your exchange account
You need your ID to access, send, or sell them. The crypto exchange, the bank, and the government will ask for your ID, they will check who you are, if you have relatives holding political office, and they may ask you for a bunch of other things. Only after you reply to all their questions then they may give you permission to access your funds.
Also note that the gatekeepers (banks, exchanges, governments) can single-handedly change the rules according to which you can access, send, or sell your assets. History is full of examples of people who thought they had their funds…until they realized they could not access it.
Even if you never had issues accessing your ID-tied funds, do not take it for granted that this will always be the case. I actually bet that in the coming years, a growing number of people around the world will face major limitations to selling their ID-tied assets.
Assets unrelated to your ID
- Physical gold (you physically possess it)
- Physical bitcoin (you hold its private keys)
- Jewellery and anything else that you can physically hold, move, and sell without needing your ID, or asking for anyone's permission.
What % of your assets are tied to your ID?
If it is 100%, you have got work to do.
As people face limitations on selling/moving their ID-tied assets, they will seek to diversify into assets unrelated to their ID.
Bitcoin is the obvious winner in this diversification journey.
I teach you how to do it in an easy way in my Bitcoin Masterclass. Whenever you are ready, I am here to guide you.
P.S. On the eve of Q4, 2023, I wish you a productive last three months of the year. These are going to be exciting times for me with some exciting announcements coming up. Have a great weekend and talk to you soon!
