BR #6: We Live in a Casino
May 14, 2023(1 minute read)
We all live in a global casino, which we call "the economy".
The casino owners (shareholders) are the central banks.
And the US Central Bank is the majority shareholder of the casino.
You, me, our friends, companies, employers are the players.
We all play with casino chips - also known as fiat currencies - USD, EUR, GBP, etc.
The casino owners decide the total number of chips available and the price of chips.
In the "good times" the casino sets a low price for the chips.
For example, from 2009 til 2022 the chips were dirt cheap.
For most people chips were either free (or almost free)!
Just go to your bank and based on your salary and net worth you get super cheap chips.
And now you can play :) !
Buy stocks, apartments, crypto, doge coin! Hell, buy even JPEGs!!!
As everyone gets cheap chips, and keeps buying stocks, apartments, JPEGs, your assets go up!
The "economy" is booming!
You feel wealthier.
Life is good.
But then, one day in 2022 the casino owners decide it is time to end the party.
In just a year they increase the price of new chips 60 times.
Now very few people take the new expensive chips...and thus there are way fewer buyers.
The fewer the buyers, the lower the prices of a apartments, stocks, crypto...
Welcome to the new recession.
All of a sudden people, companies, and even banks which took too many of the cheap chips are now bust.
As they go bust the casino owners and their friends can buy them out for dirt cheap.
The casino has won...yet again.
The casino always wins.
Here is a chart of all the times the casino owners increased the prices of chips:
And then they say bitcoin is a casino :)
Not even close...
Unlike the global fiat casino, bitcoin has no owner.
We are all together the owners of bitcoin.
No single group sets the price of bitcoin.
The price of bitcoin is set by all of us.
But since we all live inside the huge central bank casino,
our perception of bitcoin is influenced by the price of central bank chips.
But as more people get destroyed by the fiat casino,
they #StudyBitcoin and eventually exit.
Exiting is hard...because you have always lived in the casino.
And all of your friends are in the casino...
The good news is you don't have to exit all of a sudden.
You can exit gradually over months and years.
Start exiting sooner rather than later.
If you don't, the casino owners will eventually own you.
Remember the goal of the WEF (World Economic Forum) for 2030:
"You will own nothing and be happy"?
I will pass on that happiness.
